"Absolute Power Corrupts Absolutely."
What would you do if you were a king? Being a king comes with much more then just being in charge, of course you have the most say and power over the rest but what you do with it can either make you or brake you. In the play "Macbeth" you have Macbeth and Lady Macbeth they want to be the new king and queen and will do what ever it takes. Lady Macbeth is the one that wears the pants in the relationship between Macbeth and herself, she can easily influence Macbeth into doing what every she wants. Macbeth has second thoughts about killing king duncan and is easily influenced by Lady Macbeth's words, "your a coward" was all it took for Macbeth to change is mind and do what it took to becoming the new king. Macbeth took the thrown and took in the power that came with being king.
Macbeth had the power to do what he pleased and anyone that got in his way he had them tooken out. So much power made macbeth feel untouchable who would dare to a king with so much power and say of what happens.Macbeth can relate to the old fashion days when we did have kings they over powered their people and treated them like crap, in the end they were over thrown and killed in the end. If the king wasn't overthrown he normally loses all respect and is looked down to. Power and money will make the weak crack, the minds of those who do posses power is apt to become corrupt.
In other words this quote means having power can corrupt someone's judgement and how they treat others , such as a dictator, corrupts absolutely because the leader can do anything they please. kings always push and push their limits and their people limits as well. Having so much power and not knowing its limits will come back to bit you in the a**, thats why you should never abuse your power because people will lose all respect for you."With great Power comes great responsibility" this also comes to mind when thinking about macbeth because he took the thrown just for the power and what did he actually do for his people? Nothing but take away a real king and put a bad name for the whole community.
To conclude, the quote to me means that power can turn a person so cold and make their minds go so corrupt. You Have macbeth for example yes its only a play but even in the old days we have had kings that thought they help the world in their hands and it was all gone in seconds. "With respect comes great responsibility" if you take on the power but not the responsibility behind it your apt to get over power and maybe even killed. Absolute power can lead someone to death no matter how unstoppable they may think they are.
